About Sin Garden

The Story

Sin Garden is a dark tale following an old, wealthy family of eeveelutions known as the Cardegreys, residing in the flower-rich town of Gardenia. The family is burdened with secrets, sins, and a tragic legacy that haunts their ancestral manor.

Gardenia is famous for its exquisite flowers, which bring prosperity to the town. Those without gardening skills run successful businesses or participate in hunting. As a popular tourist destination on the route to a major city, Gardenia appears idyllic to visitors.

Recently, the Cardegreys welcomed a newborn. The mother, a leafeon, died during childbirth, leaving the father, an umbreon, alone with his grief. One day, he mysteriously vanishes without a trace. Despite exhaustive searches, neither he nor his body are ever found.

The newborn eevee, Hawthorn, experiences strange occurrences throughout his childhood. The strangest of all is himself. Deep inside Hawthorn resides a parasitic twin he absorbed in the womb—a teratoma tumor that was once his littermate. This entity, known as Rose, can control his body at will.

While Hawthorn is timid and gentle, Rose is his opposite—a menace to both society and her own family, taking pleasure in using others for her amusement. The story follows Hawthorn, Rose, their siblings, and other residents and guests of the manor as they navigate this twisted family dynamic.

Origins & Prelude

The Leafeon's Tragedy

Centuries ago, a leafeon was born into a loving family with dreams of becoming a mother. Her dreams were shattered when she discovered she was infertile. Devastated, she focused on caring for her existing family, though she remained deeply unhappy.

Tragedy struck when a fire engulfed her home, killing her entire family. With nothing left, she retreated into the nearby woods, never to be seen by her village again. Desperate to salvage something from her loss, she turned to witchcraft, dedicating her remaining years to learning how to infuse dark-type magic into her grass-type healing abilities in hopes of repairing her womb—to no avail.

She created a sigil that could enchant seeds to be so potent that a single seed could grow an entire garden. Initially disappointed that the sigil wasn't strong enough to apply to herself, she continued her work until old age claimed her.

"Dying and filled with regret, the leafeon witch made a final desperate act. She consumed the hexed seed and buried herself alive, hoping her magically experimented body would act as a conduit—a beautiful garden born from her flesh, something beautiful finally emerging from her existence."

The Garden's Awakening

A wicked tree and thick forest grew where the leafeon died. The magic infused in the tree attracted the ancestors of the Cardegrey family, who chose this very forest to build their ancestral manor, vowing their family would live there for generations.

Unbeknownst to them, they built their home atop the leafeon's corpse. Her soul lived on in the wooden boards of the house and throughout the forest, with her influence concentrated most strongly in the garden before the manor.

To sustain herself, the magic needed to be fed. Water kept the garden alive, but the hex that preserved her soul required the blood of the only family she could perceive—the Cardegreys themselves. Thus began the dark legacy of the Sin Garden.
